Chemnitz Marathon 2011
KIESELSTEIN-team successful on 4th position
On 4 June 2011 the 4th Chemnitz Marathon took place. Even for the second time, KIESELSTEIN participated with a team of employees, friends of the company and members of the ice hockey-team KIESELSTEIN Cracks.
Although the starting shot had been postponed to 4.00 pm, the runners had to master the distance of 42.195 km at temperatures of up to 30°C. The route went from the New Market in the city centre out into Chemnitz Stadtpark and back. This lap had to be run 4 times altogether. The KIESELSTEIN team finished the distance after 3h 58min.
Chemnitz Marathon is the greatest charity run in Saxony and is a non-profit project of the Lionsclub Wasserschloss Klaffenbach. For each kilometre run one Euro is donated to social charity projects.
