KIESELSTEIN presented strucwire® at Dresden Conference for cellular materials
In Dresden one of the leading conferences for cellular materials, the Cellmat 2012 took place from 7 to 9 November 2012. Initialized by Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden the conference took place already for the second time in the Saxon capital. An extensive program of lectures with the latest research results concerning cellular materials was offered to the professional audience. Latest developments were presented by exhibiting companies and research facilities.
Also KIESELSTEIN presented its 3dimensional wire mesh strucwire® at Cellmat. It is made out of metal spirals winded into each other, which are connected then form-fit to each other.
Not only it stands out for its low specific weight and thermo mechanical characteristics, it also features additional functional attributes that can be adapted to the desired application.
The 3D-structure made in Chemnitz opens up new possibilities in light-weight construction, automotive industry and even medical technology.
